I don't like that if it needs a specialised mainboard. The more special its needs, the less likely it will be adopted by the market.
Why not make 6-8 Xe3 versions, which work on every board and can be produced cheaper as well? That configuration should already be on par or surpass an AMD 8700G.
But naahw - 2 Xe3 cores (standard CPU) or 12 Xe3 cores (special CPU). Minimum or maximum. Only the extreme ends. This approach doesn't sound good to me ...
A leaked Nova Lake-S SKU (12 Xe3P cores, 40 W iGPU PL2, 154 W chip-wide PL2) reportedly needs a 65 W-class power-delivery segment for full graphics performance.
