The FCC is broadening its national security crackdown from Chinese-made drones to foreign-produced robots, potentially restricting new robot vacuums, lawn mowers, and humanoid devices weighing more than 4.4 pounds. Previously authorized models can remain on sale and receive software updates through at least January 1, 2029, but future products from leading Chinese brands such as Roborock, Ecovacs, and Dreame may be blocked from the U.S. market.
