You mention the problem in the article but how many people do not realise that, when something is Windows 11 compatible, the Snapdragon processor may still be a problem. I bought my third Surface recently and love it. I assumed my software would work without any problems as would my Canon scanner. That assumption was very wrong. The Canon driver would not install because of the processor and some software is not compatible. As for the scanner, I already had a Brother multi-function device, which was fine, but had to buy a Brother single sheet scanner to replace the Canon for portability. Lack of USB A is a nuisance but a cheap hub with everything including SD card reader solves that problem.
The surface pro is way overpriced, for almost 1700 euro's I rather buy a secondhand MacBook Pro or Windows workstation laptop costing half and just a bit less batterytime but performance ise almost equal. Is notebookcheck afraid of writing a damning review?
So the cpu is much weaker than AMD"s old and average Ryzen 350 and the iGPU is weaker than the AMD mediocre 860M. Only battery life is good. Yeah hard pass.
Microsoft now offers its Surface Laptop 13.8 with new Snapdragon X2 ARM chips from Qualcomm with better performance and longer battery runtimes. You still get the bright IPS screen as well as comfortable input devices, which makes it a really good overall package.
