"For the RRP of the Claw 8, you can actually get a decent gaming laptop (like the Acer Nitro V16 S on Amazon for $1350) and also get a Nintendo Switch 2, for example."
While I'm sure they'll be overlap for some, I never found this convincing. If I wanted a gaming laptop, I would have gotten one and not even considered a handheld. The form factor itself is one of the main reasons I want one especially considering how heavy gaming laptops are. Gaming laptops also don't scare as well with lower TDPs, one of the biggest advantages of handhelds with Z2E and now the Arc G3 is that they're great at both low and high TDP ranges even if their highs aren't gonna match the laptop.
And if I was fine with the restrictions of the Switch 2, I would have gotten a Switch 2.
Computer prices continue to increase and new gaming handhelds are also affected. MSI's new gaming handheld Claw 8 EX AI+ with Intel's new Arc G3 Extreme chip offers very good performance figures, but we are not sure there are sufficient potential buyers considering the high price of $1799.
