Yesterday after deciding the X13 G7 wasn't going to happen for me due to the absurd price, I went and tried the HP Omnibook Flip X at Bestbuy. The OLED irritated my eyes immediately but the touchpad was glass and very nice. The keyboard was also nice: It appeared to be a throwback to pre-Compaq HP keyboards, from the era when HP cared. However when I went to the HP website I found no mention or no confirmation at all that the touchpad is glass. Why not emphasize a good feature? Something is still rancid in HP's management.

I have the G6 AMD. Great laptop, extremely lightweight, let down by the mediocre keyboard.

It's a definitely a mylar touchpad. It feels more rigid than most but I'm a TrackPoint guy so I'm using the nub and dedicated buttons most of the time.
I just got a set of the Gen 7 in to test as replacements as our "lightweight" standard laptop as opposed to the Dell Pro 13 Plus we have been getting for the last year (we've had build quality issues with every lightweight Dell we end up going with) and so far my test group has loved them both for improved typing and the option to use the nub and buttons rather than the touchpad.

Ah, but... Does it have the same crappy plastic "mylar" touchpad that is present on every other laptop including the $200 Chromebooks?
