In a new YouTube retrospective, Fallout: New Vegas lead designer Josh Sawyer explains that Obsidian's iconic "where are they now" ending slides for side quests were selected largely on director-driven instinct rather than narrative importance. He cites the NCR quest "Flags of Our Foul-Ups" as a key example, where a dark player outcome, drugging the Misfits with Psycho, inspired a dedicated slide imagining their descent into war crimes and eventual execution.
