I have the current gen version of the Lenovo 7X with the snapdragon x elite chip (78-100) and I can't even use this laptop at all to its full potential because of the lack of battery management charging features that Lenovo/Qualcomm refuse to work on and support.

Just sharing my experience here because it's incredibly frustrating to see all the latest and greatest of the new chip that's being released but they can't even implement something as simple as limiting the charging of the device and supporting a docked mode with an external monitor.

The device won't stop charging even when it's charged fully to 100% and the fans kick on very high despite zero CPU or hardware usage basically killing the battery life over time depending on how heavy you use it/how frequently you charge. I have personally reached out to Lenovo and Qualcomm over the past 6 months about this issue multiple times but I have heard nothing back and I don't think they have plans to fix this issue.

So yes cool new laptop with cool new features that promise more performance and battery life but be prepared to swap out batteries every 6 months to 1 year because they can't implement simple battery management charging features an iron out these small little kinks that we all know happens when new products launch but there is no support from the Lenovo/OEM side of things.

You buy this laptop for the battery life but the lack of hardware/software support for the battery life ends up killing the battery much faster vs just sticking with Intel/AMD chips to begin with.

Great to see impressive performance numbers and record breaking battery life.

I wonder why game developers don't update their anti-cheat systems to work on Arm chips!

And someone needs to improve single core performance too to take on Apple in this area.
