Nothing was never more than marketing hype, it's just another Android phone so they had to find something to stand out of the crowd somehow - and it worked, to an extent.

I have nothing against Android, but with the insane number of manufacturers out there, they all more or less look the same and they all have the same feature list. It's a market problem, not a brand-specific one.

I get the hate for Nothing but what wrong did OnePlus do?

Yeh, they are no longer the OnePlus of old days, but they also made improvements in other areas that they hadn't before - lest you forget that.

@jdrch:

ur not wrong my only disagreement is that smartphones in general have given any real value xD if anything, I'd argue that they've done way more societal harm than gud.

So I'm not sure being #1 at that is something to be proud of or celebrated, rather monopolies should be frowned upon.

Agreed. 95% of smartphone value is in the software and if you can't users hooked on that you're toast. Apple and Samsung have figured it out.

Fact Nothing & One Plus are done for... they just alienated the entire user base and tried to re-create the effect of Early OP with Nothing but they just don't understand what modern consumers want.

good point on the storage though that's something that Nothing has warned due to market condition. As for non-s SD7, that was requested by Nothing community themselves back when 2a and 3a were released. still feels like a sidegrade to 4a but at least the GPU is stronger

Comparing this brand new release to already released and on sale phones Like Galaxy S25 FE is quite unfair, but to be fair the pricing for S25 FE that you try to promote is a bad deal when I did score S25 512GB version just for €47 more few months ago

There are too many $500 phones that make the Nothing Phone 4a Pro look like a bad deal. Examples include bargains from Xiaomi, Samsung, and more.
