Alex Battaglia von Digital Foundry hat DLSS 5 dafür kritisiert, in die künstlerische Vision von Spielen einzugreifen. Der Spielekritiker erklärt, dass DLSS 5 in seiner aktuellen Form ganz offensichtlich mehr tut, als nur die Beleuchtung einer Szene zu verbessern. So sieht etwa Grace aus Resident Evil Requiem mit aktiviertem DLSS 5 wie eine völlig andere Person aus.
