Nachdem weder Pokémon Karmesin und Purpur noch Pokémon-Legenden: Z-A Fans so richtig überzeugen konnten, soll Nintendo zwei der wohl besten Pokémon-Klassiker für die Nintendo Switch und die Nintendo Switch 2 veröffentlichen. Trotz neuem Komfort-Feature sollen die Spiele ohne Abo verfügbar sein.
