I really hope they think twice about doing that. Sure doing the remake in the first place can be seen as a cash grab since it is widely loved by the gaming community as a whole and it pretty much sells itself. However, they put the effort in for two installments already. Don't make the mistake that so many developers make all the always and cut corners in the final installment. Mass effect did it, halo 3 did it, the list is actually huge. It will be spitting in the face of the fans to deliver a subpar product just because they are afraid of not hitting a profit benchmark. As long as they don't screw the pooch with writing changes they have the opportunity right now to put out the most anticipated game in the last 30 years. The money will come in. Don't betray your fans. Do it right.

An investor argues that several Square Enix games cost too much to develop. New data reveals the exorbitant amount of money needed to finish Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and Rebirth. Final Fantasy 16 was much cheaper in comparison, but critics found its gameplay overly simplified.
