Mithilfe von Daten der ESA-Satellitenkonstellation Swarm haben Wissenschaftler einen wachsenden Schwachpunkt im Erdmagnetfeld entdeckt. Dieser Schwachpunkt wird als Südatlantische Anomalie (South Atlantic Anomaly) bezeichnet, da er sich über dem Südatlantik befindet.
