It's really sad to see a once giant to come to this now days .
I think HTC it nows it can't sell many phones ,that's why they opted for that cheap and outdated SoC because a newer 6 or 7 gen series Snapdragon in low volume would cost to much to buy as result it would raise the price of the phone .

HTC is apparently preparing to launch a brand-new gaming smartphone very soon, as the new device in the Wildfire series was already on display at a trade show. The handset should offer strong specs including a 5,600mAh battery and a 50-megapixel main camera, but HTC is cutting costs on the processor.
