Das openSUSE-Projektteam hat openSUSE Leap 16.0 veröffentlicht, ein umfangreiches Update mit einem aktualisierten Software-Stack, einem neuen Installationsprogramm und vereinfachten Migrationsoptionen. Darüber hinaus bietet die Version einen ,,unübertroffenen Wartungs- und Sicherheits-Support-Zyklus", der jährliche Minor-Releases bis 2031 vorsieht, sobald Leap 16.6 erscheint.
