IDK, maybe good news for Intel however jury is still out on everyone else...

Case(s) in point being Linux support.

While Intel's Linux support is much better than Nvidia's (still trails AMD), Intel dropping their own iGPU's and using Nvidia's instead weakens our Linux support in the short term.

(will Nvidia ever provide BETTER support?)

Gosh, and Intel's low power APU's were so close to competing with AMD.

Short term it's beneficial for Intel - they'll save on eliminating own GPU department, while receiving 5bln$ from Nvidia. But long term they become dependable on Nvidia solutions, while also putting Nvidia into a more dominant position on the market..

The sleeping giant has awakened! Savvy folks should consider gobbling up some Intel stock now; while it's still relatively undervalued; before momentum builds further.

I've long believed that NVIDIA should step back from competing in the ARM ecosystem with AMD, Apple, Qualcomm, ect. NVIDIA has evolved beyond that space and should let others battle over the craps in that sector. Its future lies in, gaming/creative workloads, AI infrastructure, and next-generation data center innovation; not in chasing mobile/portables pesky infrastructures.

This strategic investment in Intel signals a powerful shift; a partnership focused on the future of computing, not the battles that cannot be won due to these ARM devices underperformance, thermal issues, extremely weak battery life (under 30-minutes), ect.

Intel and Nvidia will now work together to develop AI and consumer chips. Nvidia has invested $5 billion in Intel, and future Intel chips will arrive with RTX GPUs.
