The "Challenger" performance class vehicles can be as light as 130-140kgs. Being blown off the road by wind isn't uncommon.

David. Can you be any more anti-Tesla? Why single out the most efficient of EVS, when there are truly abysmal EVs out there, all while leaving out the fact that you can't actually buy the race winner mentioned in the article... I expect higher quality articles on this site.

The student-engineered Sophie 8X EV has won the 2025 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in the Cruiser class, completing 3,021.5 km across Australia in 44 hours. With a solar-powered 15.2 kWh battery, the EV utilized advanced SiC motor technology and a CFD-optimized carbon fiber body to win the race.
