Ubisoft is framed as making the right call, concerns of supposed Japanese players are centered (If I remember correctly much of the charge came from reactionary culture warriors outside Japan) and the story goes on about 'cultural insensitivity'. Not a single mention of censorship.
But since this story involves concerns from chinese players and involved a chinese game studio. None of the considerations in the Assassin's Creed story are given here. Adam Corsetti spins the story in a completely different direction. Starts blaming Leenzee games, centers the supposed concerns of a select few (western) players over others and pulls out the ol' 'censorship' canard.
It's this type of double standards and biased reporting why western 'journalism' is so distrusted.
And yet, no westerner goes to Chinese forums to complain about China censorship rules like some wumaos love doing in Western websites.
