The Xiaomi Redmi 15C 4G, while budget-friendly, has some notable weaknesses. Its performance is often criticized due to the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, which some users find to be outdated for a 2025 phone, leading to lag, especially with multitasking or demanding apps. The 4GB RAM variant might also struggle with modern Android versions and heavy usage, resulting in app crashes and slow operation. Furthermore, the display is an IPS LCD with only HD+ resolution, which might not be as vibrant or sharp as AMOLED panels found in other devices. The camera quality is generally considered average, particularly in low-light conditions, and the design still features a waterdrop notch, which some users find less modern than punch-hole displays. And my old, now backup phone, Redmi 10C (Snapdragon 680 + UFS 2.2) is still better than this. Helio G81 (+ eMMC) is a total tragedy for any cost, no display (the only better thing than the 10C) is going to save it. Cameras are also not better (as GCam is killing it with Snapdragons, can't use it here).

And then to round the whole joke - 4 GB RAM (which is fine on its own) paired with HyperOS and its absolutely pathetic memory management where with less than 12 GB of RAM you cannot have two opened apps at once because the app not in focus is going to get aggressively killed each time (good luck to use it for banking for example, when you need to switch between apps). 4 GB RAM on HyperOS/MIUI is about identical as 512 MB on literally any other skin.

Total waste of money.

The Redmi 15C is hailed as a smartphone that will launch looking better than some flagships in its latest leak - although it is also projected to debut at a fraction of a flagship price in the same post. It might also have a bigger battery (and screen) than some of its top-end contemporaries, albeit with some drawbacks...such as the lack of 5G.
