In fairness, purchased Wii and 3DS games are still redownloadable after 19 and 15 years respectively aside from a bad 3-month outage in 2022, but I agree on principle. It seems that all first- and second-party cartridges are complete and those are what I bought this console for. At least these things are more shareable and resellable than codes in boxes.

Nope! And, for some games, they might lose the license even sooner so you can buy a game-key card and if Nintendo has a falling out with the publisher and removes their games from the storefront, good luck getting that game you paid a premium for!
I don't see the benefits of this format, then again, I don't feel like the Switch 2 is a huge upgrade over the previous one, as some reviewer on YouTube said, they were sitting on the hardware for 3-4 years and weren't in a rush to release it so they wouldn't undermine the Switch 1 sales. And considering they can brick your console, I'd get the OG switch if I wanted one.

Most people missing the main downside of those game-key cards,
If let say I want to play Pokémon crystal ( over 25 years old),
I can use my old cartridge, buy an upgrade console than insert and play!

Now, with those game key card,
Do you really think you could download the game in 10-15 years from now?
Those card would become useless!

Nintendo is seeking opinions on the highly debated Game-Key Cards in its home country. The Japanese survey investigates what aspects of the format confuse gamers. Physical media supporters oppose these Switch 2 games, which rely on internet connectivity.
