As a fold user myself since the Z Fold 5, I for one welcome the camera upgrades in the upcoming Z Fold 7. Its long overdue. I also agree that there is no reason for their NOT to be a formidable camera upgrade in the upcoming S27. What I sincerely wish these companies would do is the LISTEN, truly listen to their consumers. You obviously cant make everyone happy and their in the business of making money; granted. However, nobody I know of has been asking for thinner phones. The latest focus to make their flagships thinner just to compete with what apple is doing... (which BTW, have behind the curve of innovation arguably ever since Steve Jobs departed us) is simply holding back on innovation. Thinner means less space for meaningful upgrades, less cooling capacity, etc, etc... I think, I hope, I speak for the majority of the community when I say "we want" larger battery capacity, better camera sensors, better screens and or more efficient processing power... not thinner phone just to slap a case on them anyways to protect your investment.
Getting better cameras in folds than in bar phones is way bigger issue than some pen problems. You can always carry a pen separately, its not end of the world, but having low resolution poor reach 1/4'' sensor instead of better one in the ''next gen'' form factor (foldable), for basically higher price is very sad.
Word on the grapevine seems to indicate that Samsung could be set to ditch the built-in S Pen on its phones, starting with the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Speculatively, the 2027 flagship could either launch without an S Pen at all, or with an external S Pen a la Galaxy S21 Ultra.
