What "basic tasks and web browsing and travelling" can't MacOS do? You literally just stated what a macbook is for. It's not to run some super niche windows only software. Maybe you should've checked the compatibility before purchasing blindly. Another intelligent comment.

Also, the power consumption for Intel i9 MBP is no different than any M(n) Max MBP.

And I can easily bet most people would still go for the so-called "old" competitors, even if it's a Surface Laptop 7 with Windows ARM OS.

I had a M1 with 1TB SSD 16 GB RAM I bought for 1850 I sold it bc of compatibility issues and lack op ports. I bought a secondhand MBP 15 i9 512Gb for a quarter of the MBP M4 512Gb , same specs, but a lot better price. I couldnt be happier with my i9, for my goal music production and live performances it is really good with its 16 cores. And since Apple supports MAGA Trump I decided never to buy a new MBP again.

Where is the info about the temperature of the passively cooled chip itself? I don't really trust this concept. I would imagine the company that is this greedy would be interested in making the product lifecycle very limited.

1250 euro here in Portugal. I have chosen a tablet for office proposes and it is working well since i don't have to write long texts.

I just bought a new Windows laptop that I think will replace my Macbook, and I noticed it is not mentioned here in the comparison table. I hope Notebook Check will do a review later.

I paid $1500 USD for the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 16" (Intel Core Ultra 7 258V/1TB SSD/16GB RAM). It is about the same price as the 15" Macbook Air and also a super light laptop (the lightest really you can buy in the stores where I live). It has a 120hz 1800p OLED display. So far I am preferring it over the Macbook thanks to Windows, I don't need to use two different machines.

Let's hope Notebook Check does a review!
