Pixel 8 here and was thinking about upgrading to the 10. Now that I see the 12 and it appears Pixel will just release minor upgraded versions of the same phone every year. . maybe I will keep waiting, or try a Chinese flagship.

Everything is nice and great until we mention the Tensor.
The "in-house" Tensor which meant Google would finally foolow in Apple's footsteps and deliver better optimization for their devices, turned out to be mediocre at best, offering only midrange level performance and battery life.
The problem from the beginning has been the use Samsung's node. The Tensor was in the end another Exynos failure which was always inferior in any aspect to the other chipsets in the same league.
Had they chosen to use TSMC from the beginning, Tensor would've reached maturity at a different pace. I have no doubt it would've been better but it's Google we're talking about here and Google likes to screw up.

Even before Google launches the Pixel 10, a leak has already revealed initial details about the Pixel 12 series, which apparently consists of four different phones. The codenames for the 2027 generation of Google smartphones are apparently based on primates.
