Boy, they messed this up big time. 6.3 is a huge screen for older consoles emulation and a noticably larger device than Pocket S with 6 inches. 6 inch with no bezels was really on the edge of being "portable enough" but 6.3 even with zero bezels will most definitely spill into "average" size from "compact" size. Odin 2 mini has 5.5 and it's a perfect balance of portability and horsepower for everyday gaming and 6.3 inch device is definitely a larger tier that doesn't compete in portability. Idk it's either 6 inch tops for portability or 7 inch tops for ability. 6 inch in psp-style not clamshell is already pushing it, really. Switch lite is the comfort king, go above in size and you mess it up - not comfortable and expensive. 6.3 with top snapdragon is a compacted powerhouse tier with a huge price point (350-ish) that would make no sense. Pocket S, Retroid 5, even switch lite would make a lot more sense - my prediction.
The Ayaneo Pocket S2 became official as a new Android gaming handheld with the latest Snapdragon G3 Gen 3. While the March 2025 unveiling didn't share anything about the price and availability, the company has now confirmed a May launch.
