HD 7970 was just $549 or something.
That was a flagship card. It was faster than the nvidia equivalent, and they were way better for crypto mining.
And now we're happy with 7770 level graphics @699...

New information from AMD suggests competitive pricing for the RDNA 4 GPUs. With the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti scarce, the RX 9070 XT may cost less with capable 4K performance. The speculation will soon end with an official announcement on February 28.
