This solves the problem of Lithium ion loss in batteries. But it likely does nothing against dendrite formation and other processes that kill a battery. And I am guessing the battery redesign needed will add weight and volume.
So this might only be useful for industrial high use batteries. Still, this is exciting tech if it ever gets used.
