Great router overall but...

QuoteThe AVM Fritz!Box 5690 Pro may not deliver the highest speeds but it stands out as the best all-in-one router currently available.

...to be the best all-in-one router it would need to have a 4G or 5G too, with a physical SIM slot. There is a decent amount of routers on the market, actually some are also Fritz!Boxes, that offer exactly that with 95% of performance and everything else as this one here.

And before anyone asks why is that necessary to have (why isn't?) - to create multiple WLANs without affecting their bandwidth, plus many other reasons such as simply taking a router with you on your other location for weekends etc.

AVM is the leading name in routers across the DACH region. The Fritz!Box 5690 Pro has been on the market since last summer and is packed with features – including Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band technology. Our review explores what it lacks – and why it still earns the title of the router of 2025.
