Really? Speaking from experience, or just reading clickbait articles?
2024 Model 3 Performance. 298 mile EPA range.
I can take a ~140 mile road trip and use about 60% battery. And that's on a day like TODAY here in eastern Pennsylvania. Temps in the mid to high 20's, and running snow tires rather than the factory summer tire (for obvious reasons), with my speed mostly around 70-80mph.
So, in cold temperatures, with not the greatest tires, at speeds that aren't great for range, I'm using about 35 miles more "range" than the EPA estimate just going by a strict percentage... Which is just over half a mile extra per 1%, or .43 miles extra per kWH.
But please, tell us again how the EPA range doesn't account for "normal roads"
