Motorola's phone division hasn't been American for a while. Motorola Mobility is owned by Chinese company Lenovo.

Seems only the models mentioned which are in violation of patent law would be banned from sale, but I would think they could still sell other models/lines that aren't currently in violation.

Swedish networking company Ericsson has won an initial ruling in a patent infringement lawsuit against Motorola and Lenovo. If the ruling is upheld, Motorola could face a sales ban in the US.
