RAM processes are very different than logic processes.  This is for high density RAM and not small blocks of RAM that can be included in logic chips.   RAM will use tighter layout rules than logic and in the RAM designs, the process and designers tune the process to support capacitive structures that they require.

Couldn't they make really faster RAM and/or VRAM on those nodes? I guess it's not profitable enough.

Consider Qualcomm just release snapdragon 8 elite. I'm assuming "Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy" does not exist anymore?

A South Korean media outlet reports Samsung plans to temporarily close 30% of its trailing-edge semiconductor manufacturing facilities due to poor demand. That number will supposedly go up to 50% by the end of the year.
