I have a Moto G54 so UNFORTUNATELY I will receive such an update. I'm sick of updates. Security updates, well OK. But getting new features AND LOSING FEATURES I LOVE and getting new layouts and such, PLEASE NO!

Our family of 3 were avid Motorola fans for years. Went through 12 moto phones over the years until we realized the absence of moto security software updates to moto phones was a security risk, pollution of the planet and a crazy expense. (Most moto phones are at least a year on the market before you get one and that leaves only one year of moto updates before their updates cease and the phone becomes a security risk). This issue motivated is to switch to Samsung and Google. All of which are offering updates of at least 5 years.

It seems like Motorola is always behind when it comes to phone 🤳📱 updates. One Plus, Samsung and others give us 3 or 4 OS updates up to 5 years which is really practical and super cool because smartphones are expensive. HELLO!! OPEN YOUR EYES 👀!!!!! It's costing more every single minute. 😎🤳📱🥺😞👀🌎🌍

I switched to Samsung after 5 Motorola phones in a row due to the lack of updates.
My wife has the last one in the family, and she is a rare user, so the updates are not an issue for her.

> Smartphones such as the Google Pixel 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 are set to receive seven major Android updates, but Motorola's update support is nowhere near as generous as some of its competitors. Even expensive business devices such as the Lenovo ThinkPhone will only receive three major Android updates and four years of security patches.

It amazes me how many phone-producing companies don't see the value in guaranteeing support for a good time-span --- it costs them little but seriously reduces the value of the phones to anyone who values having a secure device.

Motorola has finally officially confirmed which of its smartphones will get the update to Android 14. The company's software support period is comparatively short, but at least newer smartphones such as the Edge 40 Neo, the Razr 40 Ultra and the Lenovo ThinkPhone will receive the update.
