Well if the touchpad is anything like the earlier P236 which I have you are going to be extremely disappointed.
Based on our experience, we have 3, i would not recommend this machine to anyone.

Finally found the perfect laptop! No other laptop has ALL of my selection criteria:

- 14"
- Lightweight
- Long battery life
- Matte screen
- IPS
- Screen resolution lower than 1440P
- No discrete graphics
- No optical drive
- i5
- >= 8GB RAM
- >= 256GB && SSD
- Full-sized HDMI, VGA, and LAN ports
- USB 3.0
- Backlit keyboard
- Normal arrow buttons (not HP ones)
- Extremely reasonable price (found it for $999.99 new on Newegg & Amazon)

I almost can't believe a laptop that's exactly how I want it actually exists. Although it could look sexier. I just hope the touchpad and keyboard are good. It'd be such a shame otherwise

No mention of case quality, screen hinges, etc..?

Why leave out such a big part of any thorough review?!

Early in the review, they mentioned that this is essentially identical to the previous version (the P645-MG).  In a nutshell, case quality is superior (carbon fiber shell on a magnesium alloy frame), no flex on the keyboard or deck,  solid well-calibrated metal hinges (opens to about 150 degrees, snaps closed like a tight clam shell when within about 20 degrees (no extra latch for close and lock since hinge spring tension keeps it closed).

Success. Acer's 14-inch Travelmate P645 does not have any serious weaknesses, and besets the business-leaders from Hewlett Packard and Lenovo. It clearly outruns its rivals in terms of battery life.
