This is nothing new. The exoskeleton itself is from a company called Mawashi, and it dates back to 2014 or so. A few militaries trialed it, and all of them hated it. Nobody adopted it.
It's a passive exoskeleton, and passive exoskeletons have apparently insurmountable issues with the design of lower body and foot elements.
Now Mehler is slapping on some low-grade (sub-Level-IV) armor plates onto the exoskeleton, and is trying to pitch it as an entirely new invention. It's not, and it's not going to go anywhere, because they haven't solved the lower body problem which severely limits the wearer's mobility.
Exoskeletons are wearable structures that support and assist movement, or augment the capabilities of the human body. What is revealed in this Article is a load bearing device that assists with the heavier loads that Military and Law Enforcement Officers wear on a daily basis allowing them to do there job with improved mobility and less stress on there body. This is not a robot.

Mehler Protection has unveiled the ExoM armored exoskeleton designed to reduce the load on law enforcement and military operators while providing up to VPAM 8 class protection.
