I can see the wisdom in avoiding Hw 4.0 extras to lower the base pricing for the model 2 but hope they will make it upgradable to future owners to add a couple thousand $$ of hardware to be able to implement FSD should they want it later on.

The radar and some other features of the Hardware 4.0 FSD kit that Tesla installs on its new Model S and Model X batches may be missing from the upcoming Model 3 Highland facelift. Instead, it could ship with a Hardware 3.5 set more akin to what it now installs in Model Y units.
