Title: Apple iPad Pro 12.9 (2021): A behemoth that is almost the perfect tablet

The Apple iPad Pro 12.9 (2021) is exquisite and delivers even more than the 11-inch model, thanks to its Mini LED display. The step-up to an Apple M1 SoC provides laptop performance in a tablet form factor, too. We have some issues with Apple's latest professional tablet though, and they are more than just iPadOS.

I was drooling over the 12.9 mini-led before it hit the market... and the first couple times I looked at it, it failed to disappoint..  but the more time I've spent with it in store (since it hasn't been in stock, i've just played with the display)...  I noticed something I didn't expect...  for lack of a better word... its a little glaring...  which got me thinking... traditional backlit displays are usually on an edge firing across the screen (not at you)... oled doesn't have an always on backlight at all... but the miniled has like 10k led lights in over 2k groups that are all facing at the users face.   I don't think thats a first for tablets, notebooks, etc.   On A TV you have a good distance between you and the screen...  but tablets are up close...  the more I play with it the less I like it...  its subtle but noticable... you can turn the brightness down to reduce the effect but then your losing the hdr advantage.  I'm sure its great for videos but for text work it feels a bit of a step backward.   Its put me on the fence about getting an 11 instead... although I really want a 12.9 screen... just maybe not this one.   Anyone else notice this?
