Früher hatte man zumindest verschiede Kabel.
Mit USB-C hätte man alles vereinfachen und vereinheitlichen können.
Mittlerweile ist unmöglich durchzublicken. Und jeder macht was er will bei der Implementierung.
Die und ihre Namen... Da die ja sowieso schon mal alles durcheinander gebracht haben mit ihrem USB 3 Rebranding könnte man es gleich richtig machen. Warum nennt man das nicht USB 80G oder so? Ich würde es echt hilfreich finden wenn auf den Steckern auf dem Kabel sowas wie "80/120" oder "80G/120W" stehen würde, dass man die Datenrate und elektrische Leistung auf einen Blick erkennen könnte (in Anlehnung an IP-Zertifizierungen). Natürlich sind Versionen wie 1, 2, 3, 4, ... für Laien einfacher verständlich als Datenraten, aber da auch da größer=besser gilt sollte das ja kein Problem den Standard etwas inhaltvoller zu gestalten. Und lieber ein längerer aussagekräftiger Name als eine Ziffer mit 30 Unterversionen die dann auch noch regelmäßig getauscht werden.
