Title: Pressure-sensitive, Digital Pens Review
Post by: Redaktion on March 05, 2019, 20:19:45
How well do the current set of pressure-sensitive digital pens from Apple, Wacom and Microsoft shape up compared to the real thing? Thomas Gasperlmair, a renowned illustrator, tests each pen for us to determine whether they can fit in with his current workflow and if cheap Chinese alternatives suffice too.

Would be good to include the HP Zbook x2. BTW, I had to disable that looping Thomas Gasperlmair animated gif on the page -- it is just too distracting and the non-stop flashing nearly caused an epileptic seizure.

Why no S-Pen? I guess it's more or less the same as the Apple Pencil, but the shape is different... Still, could be an alternative worth mentioning.

Even though I mainly use a stylus for notetaking I also agree on the comparison between the Surface and the iPads, in that the hard tip makes a terrible combination with the slippery glass, also a protection film(a matte one may serve to provide a texture improvement aside from protection) applied seems to interfere with the accuracy of the iPad while the Surface isn't affected.

What the..... no comparison with the Samsung Tab S4... come on NBC... get serious... how could you not include it... hell its even WACOM pen technology... and SAMSUNG were 18 mouths ahead of the others in adopting stylus inputs....... stupidly though they abandoned the 12.2" format... but the 10" S4 is still a perfectly enjoyable sketching device

PS get rid of that stupid captcha... 8 responses it needed from me....

Agree, the lack of a Samsung S-Pen is a marked lacunae.

Love my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 (the original w/ an i5) --- just wish Microsoft would quit crippling the stylus --- I can't select text using a Staedtler Noris Digital Stylus since Fall Creators Update and have had to roll back to1703 twice now.
