Title: Qualcomm and Ericsson announce a world-first in the development of 5G carrier aggregation
Post by: Redaktion on August 27, 2020, 21:18:06
Qualcomm and Ericsson have been collaborating on the development of 5G technology for quite some time now. The partners' latest achievement is the successful completion of data calls using carrier aggregation. This was done using the standalone sub-6GHz form of the radio standard, which means the same could become more usable and attractive to mobile networks in the future.

Still headed towards the dead end that is brute forcing...yeah, currently in SK, home to some of the highest 5G coverage in the world, 5G is about 1.5-2x the speed of 4G, not that noticeable in everyday use, with poor reception indoors. If they push it to another 2x that it may become more noticeable, particularly in terms of battery impact.
