Over six months after the Nokia 9 PureView was launched to mixed reactions, HMD Global will bring a refreshed flagship with upgraded internals. The Nokia 9.1 PureView will feature 5G support and sport improved cameras while trying to fix the issues the original Nokia 9 had.

For consumers of course it'd be best if they just upgrade the camera app, like how almost every phone's camera could be "upgraded" with Gcam.

Seconded. Software was the Nokia 9's biggest weaknesses.
If it's being released in Q4 this year then there's no excuse not to have Snapdragon 855+. It has 20% faster GPU than S855, which is what this camera system desperately needs.

The cameras either run on SD's Spectra or a proprietary ISP from Light(can't remember which), but not the GPU, and the current Nokia is known to run late on development sometimes.
