Apple's new Tap to Pay on iPhone feature raises hopes of on-device crypto transactions in the near future

Apple has announced that a new feature by which merchants will be able to take in-person payments using nothing more than their iPhone, using these devices' NFC modules. Although it is not to become available until later in 2022, its launch has led to speculation that it will also unlock the ability to buy using cryptocurrencies via the new system. Either way, the new ability will only be available in the US on its release.
