Title: AMD Radeon RX 5300 spec analysis: new entry level Navi 14 pitched against the GeForce GTX 1650 at US$129
Post by: Redaktion on August 29, 2020, 11:42:14
AMD quietly launched one more first-generation Navi part, the Radeon RX 5300, even as RDNA2 parts like Big Navi and NVIDIA's GeForce Ampere lineup are set to hit the market soon. At US$129, the RX 5300 promises better performance than the GeForce GTX 1650, while undercutting it in price.

Really not sure why AMD isn't undervolting some of these cards.

I can get a 5700 XT running at 70-90W with probably over twice the performance of this part.

This could've easily been 60-70W if AMD bothered a bit more.

Probably because they want to increase the number of functional dies.
NV if I'm not mistaken found a way to drop voltages from factory by automating the process, however, AMD did not.
Although, to be fair, OEM's should technically do this themselves... but they're not interested in optimizing AMD's  gpu's.

This fall, one could expect a GPU with performance RX 5500 = GTX 1650 Ti for $129. And maybe something like GTX 3060 for comfy 1440p gaming.
Thanks AMD.
