Title: Intel to finally license and integrate Thunderbolt 3 onto its future CPUs

Intel is taking its first steps in making Thunderbolt 3 more universal with royalty-free implementation for manufacturers starting next year. One can only hope that this will lead to universal GPU docking stations as well.

Pretty sure thunderbolt now uses USB C and not mini dp

Does this mean that board manufacturers can easily make am4 board with thunderbolt? I already bought R7 1700 and crosshair vi board though but if Ryzen gets thunderbolt, that would be awesome news!

But this is definitely Thunerbolt 2 connector
