Title: Leaked real-life image of PlayStation 5 devkit shows prototype console with possible integrated camera feature
Post by: Redaktion on October 19, 2019, 05:51:14
A real-life photo of an alleged Sony PlayStation 5 development kit (devkit) has been posted online as part of a YouTube video uploaded by ZONEofTECH. The console in the picture looks eerily similar to recent concept renders of the device, thanks to the now familiar V-shaped design language and chunky side vents.

You say camera, I say power button. The shine on that small dome is far too dull and uneven for it to be a lens - period (that level of roughness on a lens would cause immense distortion and other optical issues) - not to mention  that a lens that convex would make this something like a fisheye lens.

yea I think that is the power button.  As I don't see any other buttons for it.  Plus, just the texture of it looks a more rubber/plastic button then a lens for a camera.  I don't think the camera will be integrated.  Especially for VR.  Because some people have their consoles in tv stands that have closed doors.  You would have to have the ps5 out like in front of your tv or maybe above it just to get the camera angle right.
