Title: Sony Xperia XZ3 specs and pricing leaked
Post by: Redaktion on July 18, 2018, 21:13:57
The specs and pricing info got leaked by UK online retailer MobileFun, and it looks like the XZ3 has a few upgrades in store over the XZ2. While the 5.7-inch remained the same, the new XZ3 will come with a Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, a 3,240 mAh battery, dual 19 MP + 12 MP rear camera setup, and an overall reduced thickness of 0.39 inches.

I bet that XZ2 is not selling well at all, given the fact that it weighs half a kilo and being thick as a brick. They really screwed it up this time with the XZ2, so they may wanna try and fix some things, until XZ4 with Snapdragon 855, 7nm process, 5G, wireless 11ax and what not (which is arguably the phone to buy) comes.

I don't think the specs has anything to do with the Sony not selling well. It's a solid phone which most people would be very happy with.

The problem is that Sony are just seriously struggling to compete against Samsung in the high-end market. The XZ2 is priced very similar to the Galaxy S9 but it's inferior in a few key areas like the camera, lack of headphone jack and inferior 1080p LCD screen. To make things worse, Sony aren't spending even half the budget Samsung does on marketing so less people even think about Sony anymore.

That being said, Sony are doing really well in the mid-range space with phones like the XA2. Perhaps they should just focus on that until they can really compete with Samsung?
