Title: The HyperJuice is the "world's first" 100W USB type C charger with GaN
Post by: Redaktion on February 01, 2020, 18:46:45
HYPER has put its new charger up for crowdfunding on Indiegogo. Despite packing a maximum rate of 100 watts (W), it is described as even smaller than the MacBook Pro brick with the same kind of port. This is due to its gallium nitride (GaN) technology, which can offer greater power transfer in a smaller footprint.

Hmm, I have a smaller 65W GaN charger with 2C and 1A port, and I certainly miss another A port.

Another Hyper failure Indie-no-no piece of garbage. Check reddit /r/ UsbCHardware for reviews.

Good pointing out the discussion at /r/usbchardware. Had to search for "hyper" to find it. In summary they say the company's previous type-C hardware have been unreliable, randomly not working.

I've been using an Innergie 60C charger, very small and just fast enough. I would like another 100W charger (got the original gangster Wacom POW-A133). Given the low-ish price and February ship date I might just risk being a guinea pig and spring for this.

"GaN as a charging material"... What? Charging material?! 🤦Go back to school to learn the physics to be a tech reviewer.

Otherwise beefy, overpriced, undercapacitive power bank from questionable producer with unknown aftersale support.
