Title: Astonishing Intel Core i9-12900K UserBenchmark runs leave the i9-11900K and AMD Ryzen 9 5950X for dead
Post by: Redaktion on October 08, 2021, 04:15:25
The Intel Core i9-12900K has made a few initial runs on the polarizing synthetic benchmark UserBenchmark, where it has produced astonishing results. Even discounting the seemingly unfair weighting against the Ryzen 9 5950X still leaves the Alder Lake chip way beyond its nearest Intel relative, the i9-11900K.

Good to see progress. This is still comparing vs an AMD architecture that's been out for a while now but good to see some progress from Intel. The power stats will be interesting...

So whom so stupid that compare focused on multicore processor in single core benching? Or it  simple sack with money from Intel?

...sooo Intel could have boosted performance to levels worthy of their high pricing the whole time and didn't.  This is quite obvious, and a not so "stellar" revelation on the part of Intel.  Remember, this is the 3rd generation forward from AMDs Zen3 release of the10900K that was released at the same time as Zen3 to finally get this achieved.

I really hope this is true, but UserBenchmark is really biased towards Intel, it's almost an ongoing April's fool joke.

A cpuz benchmark leaked as well. Seems the 12900k scores about 800 in single thread and 9500 in multi thread. 5950x score around 680-700 in single thread and 12500-13000 in multi. How is this leaving the 5950x and 11900k for dead again? I'm glad intel is competing, but from what I've seen, the prices that have also leaked don't justify a 15% increase in ipc while still lagging behind multicore substantially. This is also going up against zen 3, which was released a year ago in November. This isn't a win in my opinion, it's them being competitive again.

This.  Intel has been paying off user benchmark for years.  Try sorting their search by fastest overall processors and you'll see nothing but Intel despite the fact that AMD has been outperforming them on most other benchmark utilities for years now

Mate, your credibility is no longer there if you're going to use userbenchmark as a tool to compare Intel and AMD. They're great to compare Intel vs Intel or AMD vs AMD but never against each other. They're the joke in the real Computing world and only exist in top Google search since Intel pays them out.

Four runs.

Is journalism really this trash in 2021?

Userbenchmark? Really.... I've removed notebook check from my news feed, this sites credibility is taking a real nosedive as of late, such a shame.

Hmmm

"Astonishing"....marketing razzle dazzle...

Bearing in mind that these are without a doubt cherry picked benchmarks, and given that Windows 11 imposes roughly a 15%+ performance penalty on AMD CPU's out of the gate, while Intel's new wonder chip 12900k does  improve performance over its previous generation, across the board  on average STILL falls short of AMD's 5950X by several percentage points.

Furthermore, the idea that Intel would refuse to allow official independent review and benchmarks to be released on launch day with such a  claimed advantage simply defies all logic and common sense.
