Title: ThinkPad P73 has a problem with the fan control – Lenovo is working on a solution
Post by: Redaktion on December 26, 2019, 22:08:14
We noticed the comparatively low performance of the graphics card when we reviewed the ThinkPad P73. Lenovo was also surprised by the results. We were able to confirm our findings with an additional test sample and were able to show that the GPU fan control does not work properly. Lenovo is already working on a solution, but we can offer a workaround until then.

The same is true for P53

Furthermore, and on the latter machine, stressing the CPU would result in very high temps and thermal throttle but amazingly the fans would never kick in.

Dear all,

Please read this - when upgrading to 1.20 BIOS the P73 becomes noisy. More noise than I ever have had with any laptops before my life.

Are these things somehow connected?

As I cannot paste links in here, please go to Lenovo Support community and search a post "Lenovo P73 fan become very noisy after latest BIOS upgarde in February 22th 2020, what can be done?"
