Die Spezifikationen für Bluetooth 5.1 wurden von der Bluetooth Special Interest Group veröffentlicht. Der neue Standard soll eine sehr genaue Positionsbestimmung ermöglichen, wodurch sich für entsprechende Geräte neue Anwendungsfälle ergeben könnten. Für die Funktion sind allerdings mehrere Antennen nötig.
