Title: Amazon Echo devices get motion detection feature using ultrasound
Post by: Redaktion on November 14, 2021, 20:16:54
A new motion-sensing feature is available for fourth-generation Amazon Echo Dot devices. The tool uses ultrasound to detect motion in the room, activating other connected devices, such as turning on your smart lights.

Very creepy. More data for the analytics AI to track and target people.

So I read about this both in the verge and then in the UK edition of Toms Hardware.    I waited patiently until Black Friday and purchased 2 devices including a Dot generation 4.

I can tell you in the UK there is no such option.

It is very disappointing indeed.

I note that Amazon Guard never made it to the UK, and I waited 2 years for that already NOT TO ARRIVE

So I am presuming that Amazon Motion Detect is similarly restricted to the USA.

Not happy.
