Title: Nokia is slated to ditch stock Android for its own new customized UI
Post by: Redaktion on April 06, 2021, 18:12:11
Nokia has reportedly posted a new job listing for a UX designer. This position's remit will apparently involve producing an optimal user experience both for mobile devices and online. The OS in question is not mentioned; however, the call for applicants has led to speculation as to the future of this brand's smartphones.

How increible that Juho goes away and HMD inmediately starts doing what it should have been done like 2 years ago.

I'll keep my eye out for this. If they nail it, I might give them a try.

Sure. Let's celebrate! Another hideous Chinese UI: heavy on useless pictograms, abysmal typography, frantic layouts, and no rules to guide any of that. Features now characteristic of the Asian region, and you'd have to be blind - or dishonest - to show no acknowledgement.
Fully expect people (like that creature that posted below me) to be ecstatic - because of the overall degradation & cultural bankruptcy of our society, of course.

My company buys Nokia phones for three reasons. First pricing is reasonable. Second, stock Android without bloatware. Third, acceptable build quality. Fourth, Qualcomm processors. If HMD adopts a custom UI then they are competing with many other manufacturers who charge less for phones with similar specs.

To be honest with me, I'd rather keep Nokia using Android One with stock UI. The fact that it has better performance despite its rivals having bigger RAM, especially from Xiaomi, really does speak volume. Also, there's another bonus with stock UI: a longer battery life. My brother's Nokia 5.4 can hold up the charge from 100% to 20% in nearly 36 hours, and he always uses Facebook and watch YouTube all the time.

Nokia had a good recipe with their Symbian OS ... Problem was that it was way ahead of it's time. Processors at that time could not handle the multiple tasks that the OS was capable of. If my Nokia N8 had processing power from any manufacturer chipset even from 4 years ago...That phone would still be going strong today!!! Imagine a nokia N8 with even only 4gb of RAM🔥💯
