The new budget Zen 3 processors from AMD, the Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 5 5500, have made their first appearances on PassMark. Compared to the affordable rival Intel Core i5-12400, the Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 5 5500 produced expected benchmark results. The new additions from Team Red utilize the AM4 microprocessor socket.

The i5-12400 shows that Intel needs to ramp up power consumption to even beat Zen 3 and Rembrandt with Alder Lake. Zen 4 will wipe the floor with Raptor Lake. With the 7950X in particular, AMD will shrug and raise the TDP to 170 W to get that last few hundred MHz.
